Barrington Bedrooms Refresh

These adorable young clients were seeking updated Bedrooms as they embarked on their early grade school years and continue to grow into their distinctive and sparkling personalities. They shared their color preferences and selected their wallcovering from a few options to kick-start the process.

New beds for each was a priority and I wanted to give them a unique space where not just sleeping but lounging, reading, playing, and daydreaming were all accommodated.

In the smaller of the two bedrooms, a whimsical light blue & white floral print wallpaper was selected for a sweet ceiling detail and paired with a colorful but practical rug. The same color combination of raspberry and light pink were woven into the Roman shade trim and art pairing above the bed - and of course the collection of stuffed animals!

The larger bedroom was covered in an elegant cream, silver, and lavender wallcovering with an airy swan motif. A slipcovered low profile bed in a muted seafoam green linen blend fabric was moved ninety degrees to be centered on the window, and centered on the room upon entering. New built-ins with a white oak-topped desk allow this client to study and style her shelves as her tastes and interests change. A chunky gray and white rug ties in the many elements to feel soft underfoot and grounds the entire space.
